Interviews are daunting and nerve wracking for most people. However, if you are fully prepared and ready, you can turn them into a valuable and positive experience – no matter the outcome.

Clinic People want to share our top 5 interview tips that will help you secure your dream job.

1. Prepare

If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail! Preparation is the most valuable thing you can do. Research the company, make sure you know about what they do and why they are the company you want to work for! There are plenty of common questions asked in interviews, think about how you would answer them and practice. You could even get a family member or friend involved to help!

If you are working with a recruiter, they are there to help you! They want you to succeed and are more than happy to help you prepare, give you information about the company and tell you who the interviewer is!

2. Identify what makes you special!

Think about the top 5 things that make you the person you are, why this makes you the best person for the position and have an example for each selling point! Don’t hide you selling points in long winded stories – make them clear and walk away knowing that your interviewer knows your key selling points! Sound excited and make your interest in the position clear.

3. What do you want to ask them?

Come to the interview with intelligent questions for the interviewer that illustrate your knowledge of the company and your intent. Interviewers will always ask if you have any questions, so you should always have at least two ready.

If you say you don’t have any questions, the interviewer may conclude that you’re not really interested.

Some good all-purpose questions are:

“What do you think is the best thing about working here?”

“What kind of person would you like to see in this position?”

4. Send a follow up email

Send a follow up email thanking them for their time! Customize your emails by referring specifically to what you and the interviewer discussed. Emails should be sent within 48 hours of the interview for maximum impact!

5. Don't give up!!!

If you have a bad interview, don’t give up! There is always the option of calling or emailing the interviewer and letting them know that you think you could have done better communicating why you’re the best person for the job. It will show them how passionate you are about the position and that you really care about the role!

If you’re unsuccessful in the interview, take the experience as a positive. You will have gained something valuable from the experience and can use this new knowledge in your next interview!

If you use these tips, you’ll be more than ready for your next interview.

Whether you care currently looking for a job or looking to hire, Clinic People are here to help you. Give us a call and we can tell you about all our exciting opportunities and help you prepare for interviews!

The demand for aesthetic treatments is ever growing and after the year we have all had, you might be thinking that it is time for a career change! Whether you are looking for personal development opportunities or to gain more from your professional life, training in aesthetic treatments might be is the way to go!

The best way to start

There are multiple routes into the aesthetic industry. From your starting point as a Doctor, Dentist or Nurse you already have a lot of the core knowledge!

The best place to start is to do your research! There is an abundance of aesthetic training providers out there and it is important that you find the one that is right for you and offers the most support through your journey.

It is essential to compare prices and make sure you are getting value for your money! It is hugely important to check that your chosen training provider provides live models for your training, this will ensure you get real world, valuable experience when learning your new skills.  Which is incredibly beneficial for putting all your amazing work into practice and greatly valued within the industry!

Being the best in the biz

Make sure the training provider you chose has expert trainers, who are highly accredited within their own medical professions.

Community links are extremely important! Starting out in aesthetics can be challenging. When choosing a training provider, consider the support you get on completion of the course. It is a good idea to think about the support the training provider offers and the wider community the training provider has.

Building yourself up for success

After deciding on a training provider, the first step in your aesthetic career is the Foundation course. This will equip you with the basics of Dermal Filler and Botox. From there you can chose to train in more advanced treatments and build up your treatment portfolio. We recommend training, training and more training! Expanding your experience and qualifications is always a great move as you’ll be able to offer patients a wide range of treatments which will position you well and make you stand out against competitors.

There is an option of doing a Level 7 Qualification in Injectables for Aesthetic Medicine. The Level 7 qualification is a post-graduate qualification. The original Level 7 Certificate was developed with IQ (Industry Qualifications) and was subsequently approved by Ofqual and has been adopted by multiple aesthetic training providers. When choosing a Level 7 qualification, you need to check that it is regulated by Ofqual and credited by VTCT.
